You're spot on. The cigar is yours! It is from "Krokodil", a soviet version of "Private Eye"...I am sure Andrei's dad may have spent few happy hours reading it.
then that must be Roy Cohn up on the stool in the background. I feel this way about phones myself these days. He must be trying to get through to Haringey Council.
Roy was only really comfortable in sensible pearls and twin set. J. Edgar Hoover preferred a black satin ball gown, make-up by Eve Arden, the works. Haringey Council - that viper's nest of communist spies...Don't get me started.
Eve Arden was a sarcastic American actress, the queen of one liners..Would you perchance mean Elizabeth Arden? (I think she may have been from Haringey)

I stand corrected.
But I doubt that Ms. Arden ever set dainty foot upon Haringey's scum-lined streets.
Any more scurrilous rumours?
Andrei's grandfather and Vladimir Maiakovsky used to go whoring in Haringey's Red Light District
Ba-boom.
