EL paneo de la toma 2 dura casi un minuto y no deja de entretener. No le falta ritmo , no le falta gracia, y no le sobra nada. Se luce completamente la animación como recurso expresivo.Y sin dialogos !!!
Little Hiawatha looks like he might owe something to Jimmy Swinnerton. I read online that Warner Bros later made at least one cartoon of Swinnerton's Canyon Kids, but I've not seen it. Some of his animals are here.
Wonderful Links, Kellie, I agree with you about Swinnertons influences. Obviously they knew his work. Never the less I see in this short the hands of Albert Hurter and Gustav Tengreen, who were working at the same time designing "Snow White and the Seven Dwarfs" and "Pinocchio". The Director, David Hands was at the time involved in the production of "Bambi"....Amazing period for Disney!
I am these days trying to learn how to steal more effectively from Tenngren - harder than it might look - I'm now going to see if I can plunder Swinnerton too!
Maravilloso!!
