Oh man, I just saw your Searle post - musta missed it while on hols! Thanks for posting those - I've been trying to locate a cop yof the London book but it's very hard to get hold of. I did recently find the Paris sketchbook which is equally good & I have the Secret Sketchbook also - lots of great, surruptitious quickies done on the fly. Searle & strippers - wonderful!

Any chance you could post more of the London drawings?

Matt - see if you can get hold of a book called "The Big City" illustrated by Searle for Punch in the 50s and republished by Perpetua - in my humble opinion, these drawings of London characters and his Paris drawings are some of his best and most sensitive work. I'm lucky enough to own a couple of originals from this book which I also eventually found by looking around on the net.
