Ramon Columba
Ramón Columba (1891-1959, Argentina)
He worked as a parliamentary stenographer and at the same time began drawing comics for the daily La Razón and the periodical Caras y Caretas. In 1922, he created the periodical Paginas de Columba.
After a long tour through the USA, Columba launched El Tony with his brother Claudio, the first actual Argentine comics magazine. From 1940 to 1946, Columba also worked in the animation field. He launched other magazines, such as Intervalo and Fantasía. He was a founding father of the Argentine association of comic artists.
